Patient Registration Specialist

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuring verification of benefits and pre-certification requirements are met prior to scheduled appointment/admission. Follow up as necessary on all urgent or unscheduled registrations for consistency in the process. Establishes controls so unscheduled patients understand and receive accurate information on their patient liability.

Qualifications

Must have high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a Bachelor's degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university. Experience in hospital setting or financial area preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Must be familiar with insurance plans and requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
